🩺 A Diagnosis: Confirms that you have a medical condition.
🔗 A Medical Nexus: Is the connection between your medical condition and your military service or an already service-connected disability.
Now, here is where things get interesting!
There are different ways a condition may be connected to your military service.
🎖️ Direct Service Connection: Your condition is linked directly to something that happened during your military service.
🧩 Secondary Service Connection: Your condition was caused or aggravated by another condition that is already service-connected.

And this is why medical evidence matters!
Depending on your situation, medical records and a well-supported medical opinion may help explain the connection between your condition and your service.
But here is the important part: Not every claim requires a privately obtained Nexus Letter, and having one does not guarantee approval.
